A woman hiking alone in northern Colorado died in what authorities suspect is the state's first fatal mountain lion attack in over 25 years. Hikers found the woman unresponsive on the Crosier Mountain trail and scared away a mountain lion nearby. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers responded, shooting two lions in the area as part of protocol. Investigations are ongoing to confirm the animal involved and the cause of death.
