Over 3,000 Tourists Rescued After Heavy Snowfall Strands Vehicles in Sikkim

Heavy snowfall in Sikkim's higher reaches near Nathula Pass and Tsomgo Lake stranded over 800 vehicles and approximately 3,000 tourists across multiple locations. Coordinated rescue operations involving the Indian Army, Sikkim Police, GREF BRO, and local stakeholders successfully evacuated all stranded tourists and vehicles safely. Authorities provided shelter, food, and medical care during the incidents and advised tourists to follow weather advisories and equip vehicles with snow chains for safe travel in snowfall conditions.
