Manipur Faces Damage from Heavy Rain and Hailstorms; Relief Efforts Underway

Heavy rain, hailstorms, and strong winds struck several parts of Manipur, causing damage to houses, uprooting trees, and disrupting power supply. In southern Thanga village and Moirang near Loktak Lake, multiple homes were damaged or destroyed. Northern Senapati district also experienced severe hailstorm damage. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh directed officials to remain on high alert and mobilized relief teams to provide timely assistance and essential supplies to affected families, with ongoing monitoring of the situation.
