
A 47-year-old woman from Kolkata died in North Sikkim after developing acute symptoms of altitude sickness. She experienced shortness of breath and vomiting after reaching Lachung, located at 9,600 ft, and had visited Zero Point at 15,300 ft despite her condition. She was taken to Lachung Army Field Hospital around 2 am, where she was declared dead. Authorities have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation.
