A 60-foot iron foot overbridge in north Delhi's Roop Nagar collapsed on Tuesday morning, causing a woman, reportedly a beggar around 50 years old, to fall into the drain below and die. The bridge had been declared unsafe and was barricaded to prevent public access, but was still used. Rescue teams from the Delhi Fire Service, National Disaster Response Force, Delhi Police, and Boat Club conducted operations. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation, with a detailed inspection planned after rescue efforts.
