Heavy Snowfall Strands Over 1,000 Vehicles Near Atal Tunnel in Manali

Heavy snowfall near the Atal Tunnel in Manali caused over 1,000 vehicles, mostly tourists, to become stranded due to slippery roads and reduced visibility. Manali police, supported by the Border Roads Organisation and other agencies, have been conducting continuous rescue and traffic management operations to guide vehicles safely back to Manali. Authorities are using machinery, soil, and chemical agents to clear snow and urged stranded motorists to remain patient and cooperate during the ongoing efforts.
