
A fire broke out on BB Ganguly Street in central Kolkata on Wednesday morning, engulfing three adjacent shops including a plywood, furniture, and plastic goods store. Ten fire engines were deployed to control the blaze, which lasted nearly two hours and also damaged a nearby residential house. Fire officials stated the cause remains unknown and forensic investigation is needed. No casualties were reported, though significant property damage occurred. Traffic and crowd control measures were implemented during firefighting efforts.
