Western Railway has cancelled 629 suburban train services between December 27-29 to facilitate work on the sixth railway line between Kandivali and Borivali. This major block, part of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project, aims to separate suburban and long-distance trains. The cancellations are impacting thousands of daily commuters, leading to overcrowded platforms and travel disruptions. The project, which began on December 20, is scheduled for completion by January 18, 2026, with further blocks planned.
