
Mumbai and surrounding regions have experienced a recent heatwave, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C in early March. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts light rain and thunderstorms between March 18 and 19, offering temporary relief, especially in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar. While no heatwave alert is currently active for Mumbai, yellow alerts have been issued for parts of Maharashtra including Raigad and Ratnagiri. Temperatures are expected to remain above normal, with further heatwaves possible in April and May.
