Starting February 1, 2026, the TSA will require US domestic travelers aged 18 or older without a Real ID or other accepted identification to pay a $45 fee to use the TSA ConfirmID system for identity verification at airport security. This fee covers the cost of additional screening for those without compliant IDs, such as standard driver's licenses, passports, or military IDs. Travelers can pay online in advance to avoid delays, while children under 18 are exempt from ID requirements for domestic flights.
