IMD Forecasts Rain, Snow, and Thunderstorms Across Northwest India and Himalayas

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a wet spell across northwest India and the Western Himalayan region from January 20 to 26, 2026, driven by three successive Western Disturbances. Light to heavy rainfall and snowfall are expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, with thunderstorms and gusty winds affecting plains including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Dense fog and temperature fluctuations, including cold wave alerts in some areas, are also anticipated during this period.
