Fresh snowfall has begun in the higher reaches of Kashmir Valley, including tourist spots like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam, as the region experiences the harshest winter phase, Chillai Kalan. The Meteorological Department forecasts continued light to moderate snowfall and rain across various districts from January 21 to 24, with possible snowfall in plains and moderate to heavy precipitation in some areas. Despite this, the plains have yet to see significant snowfall this season, and Jammu plains will experience dense fog in the coming days.
