The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has inaugurated a new Integrated Self Propelled Heavy Duty Single Engine Mechanical Section Road Sweeping Machine, supplied at a cost of ₹4.69 crore including maintenance. This high-capacity machine, capable of sweeping 20,000 cubic metres per hour, will be used for cleaning port roads. It joins three existing machines, enhancing dust mitigation efforts. Additionally, a multi-purpose fire tender costing ₹3.85 crore, equipped with extensive emergency response capabilities, was also commissioned.
