Gujarat-born Dr. Chandrakant Shah, 89, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest civilian honors. Shah, who completed his MBBS in Ahmedabad and later moved to Canada, is recognized for his contributions to public health. The 14th Ahmedabad International Flower Show also set two Guinness World Records for the largest flower mandala and the largest flower portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
