India is preparing to receive five African cheetahs from Botswana as part of Project Cheetah. The cheetahs are anticipated to arrive in January or February and will be housed in either Kuno National Park or Gandhi Sagar sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. Botswana is also planning to translocate eight cheetahs and is discussing a partnership with Indian officials.
