Potato farmers in Punjab are facing a significant threat of late blight due to favorable weather conditions, including moderate temperatures, high humidity, and dew. Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has issued an advisory warning of rapid crop damage if the disease, characterized by dark, greasy lesions, is not managed. Farmers are advised to use contact fungicides preventatively and systemic fungicides if risk conditions persist, emphasizing the importance of correct dosages to prevent pathogen resistance.
