The bridge over the Kharicut Canal in Ahmedabad's Vatva GIDC area will be closed for six months starting January 1 for demolition and rebuilding. Declared structurally unsafe, the existing 23-meter bridge will be replaced by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). Traffic diversions are in place for the 200-meter stretch between Ramol crossroads and Trikampura Patiya until June 30, 2026.
