Indian Railways managed the Holi festival travel rush by facilitating millions of passengers with special arrangements across various zones. Northern and Western Railways operated numerous special trains, with Northern Railway handling around 1.4 million passengers in five days and Western Railway over 2.3 million. At Ludhiana station, additional facilities like special holding areas, 24/7 help desks, and food vans were set up to assist migrants and manage increased footfall, ensuring orderly and safe travel during the festival period.
