Tricity Sees Temperature Rise and Fog Disruptions Amid Cold Wave Conditions

Chandigarh and the Tricity area experienced a rise in maximum temperature to 19.5°C on Friday, marking a six-degree increase from the previous day and exceeding normal levels by 1.3 degrees. Despite this, minimum temperatures remained below normal, and cold wave conditions persisted, especially at night. Dense fog caused disruptions in road, rail, and air traffic, including flight cancellations at the local airport. A weak western disturbance may bring further temperature improvements over the weekend, with a stronger system expected around January 22 potentially causing snowfall in nearby hills.
