Raigad Imposes Heavy Vehicle Restrictions Amid Holi Traffic on Mumbai-Goa Highway

Raigad district authorities have imposed timed heavy vehicle bans on the Alibag-Revdanda route during peak hours from February 28 to March 2 to ease congestion amid the Holi weekend rush. Heavy traffic, including a 3 km queue near Mangaon-Indapur on the Mumbai-Goa Highway, reflects increased travel to Konkan villages. Ongoing roadworks and a bypass under construction aim to improve traffic flow, with the highway widening project expected to complete by May 2024.
