An express train struck and killed over 30 sheep near Sadayappapuram in Tenkasi district on Sunday. The sheep, belonging to local farmer K. Pechimuthu, had escaped their pen after being startled by a dog and strayed onto the railway tracks. The incident occurred as the train was en route to Erode. The Railway Protection Force registered a case against the farmer following the accident.
