Western Railway has cancelled 102 suburban train services on the Mumbai Western line on January 20 due to maintenance work at the Kandivali car shed and speed restrictions between Kandivali and Malad. This disruption is part of the final stage of the Kandivali-Borivali sixth line project aimed at increasing capacity. The cancellations mainly affect fast corridor trains, causing delays and crowding, with officials advising commuters to check schedules and plan travel accordingly. The car shed exit is expected to reopen on January 21, subject to clearance.
