A 53-year-old man has remained symptom-free for six years following an advanced autograft cartilage transplant in 2018, while a 56-year-old man has been symptom-free for five years after a similar procedure in 2020. Both patients at MGM Healthcare Malar, Adyar, underwent a fifth-generation arthroscopic technique to treat knee osteoarthritis. This single-stage procedure harvests healthy cartilage from the patient's own joint and transplants it to the damaged area, allowing immediate mobility and potentially delaying total knee replacement.
