A Harvard University study published in Nature Medicine suggests diets rich in vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats significantly improve chances of aging well, both physically and mentally. Researchers tracked over 105,000 people for 30 years, comparing adherence to eight healthy diet patterns. The Alternative Healthy Eating Index (AHEI) showed the strongest link to healthy aging, with followers 86% more likely to reach 70 without major chronic diseases. Lifestyle choices, particularly diet, are key to reducing chronic disease risk.
