
An AIIMS-trained neurologist has cautioned against consuming gol gappa from unhygienic street vendors due to the risk of serious infections like Hepatitis A. Dr. Priyanka Sehrawat highlighted that contaminated water used in the popular snack can lead to jaundice and, in children, acute liver failure. She advises avoiding street food altogether and seeking medical attention if symptoms such as fever or discolored urine appear.
