Delhi Raises Ration Card Income Limit to Rs 1.2 Lakh with New Verification Rules

The Delhi government has raised the annual household income limit for ration card eligibility from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.2 lakh to expand food security coverage. New rules require income certificates from the Revenue Department, ending self-certification, and discontinue the first-come, first-served system. Applications will be prioritized by district-level committees to ensure benefits reach the most deserving. A data review revealed over 8 lakh vacancies due to irregularities, including duplicate and ineligible entries, which will now be filled.
