Delhi is preparing for the 77th Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026, with extensive security and logistical arrangements. Traffic restrictions and road closures around Kartavya Path will be enforced from January 17 to 21 for parade rehearsals and on the day of the event from 4 am onwards. The Delhi Police, along with paramilitary forces and CRPF, have implemented multi-layered security measures including CCTV surveillance, anti-drone units, and checkpoints near sensitive areas like Dal Lake. Rashtrapati Bhavan will be closed to the public from January 21 to 29. Alternate routes have been advised to ease commuter movement, and enclosures at the venue are renamed after Indian rivers to facilitate visitor management. At least 30 tableaux reflecting India's heritage will feature in the parade, with ticket sales ongoing for related events.
