Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa intervened to save hundreds of palmyrah saplings planted by the Green Needa organization along the Bamani River in Mannargudi. The intervention followed an attempt by individuals to fence the area, claiming the land as their patta land. Revenue officials investigated and confirmed the land belongs to the Water Resources Department, thus securing the saplings.
