Karnataka Assembly Tables Bill on Advertisement Fee Levy and Regulation

The Karnataka Municipalities and Certain Other Law (Amendment) Bill, 2026, was tabled in the Legislative Assembly by Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh. The Bill aligns advertisement regulations with the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024, proposing the levy and collection of fees on advertisements, regulation of unauthorized ads, and validation of related fees and penalties in municipalities and municipal corporations. It is scheduled for discussion next week.
