The Manipur government has resettled approximately 10,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from over 2,200 families, with construction of nearly 4,000 new houses underway. Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel stated that regular meetings are held with displaced families to address concerns, alongside security measures and confidence-building initiatives. The government has formed state and district committees to oversee resettlement, aiming for a safe return of displaced individuals following ethnic violence that began May 3, 2023, which has displaced over 50,000 people.
