
The Election Commission of India has transferred West Bengal's Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty and Home Secretary Jagdeesh Prasad Meena following the announcement of the state's assembly election schedule for April 23 and 29. Dushyant Nariala and Sanghamitra Ghosh have been appointed as their replacements, with immediate effect. The EC cited poll preparedness reviews and past non-compliance issues, directing that the outgoing officials not be assigned election-related roles until the polls conclude.
