BJP MLA Calls for Helpline to Address Traffic Police Checks on Maharashtra Highways

BJP MLA Siddharth Shirole has urged the Maharashtra government to establish a helpline or app for citizens to report harassment by traffic police on state highways. He highlighted complaints about unnecessary vehicle stops, refusal to accept digital documents like DigiLocker, and delays caused by minor technical issues. Shirole emphasized that such practices violate Ministry of Road Transport guidelines, inconvenience travelers—including senior citizens and patients—and harm the state's tourism and image.
