Andhra Pradesh saw a 6.17% decrease in overall crime in 2025, with significant drops in rioting, bodily offenses, and cybercrime. However, economic offenses rose by 4.78%, exceeding 8,000 cases. The Director General of Police attributed the decline to strengthened policing and focused enforcement, noting reductions in crimes against women and Scheduled Castes/Tribes. Despite these improvements, recovery of funds from cybercrime gangs operating abroad remains a challenge.
