North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the test-firing of strategic sea-to-surface cruise missiles from the new 5,000-ton naval destroyer Choe Hyon at a shipyard in Nampo. He described the test as a key demonstration of the warship's capabilities and a significant advancement in maritime defense. The Choe Hyon is the lead vessel in a new class of destroyers aimed at enhancing North Korea's naval power. A previous ship of this class capsized during launch last year, which Kim attributed to sabotage.
