The Karnataka High Court has directed the state government to reconsider and potentially scrap the Bengaluru-Mysuru Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project, citing only one kilometre constructed over 25 years despite plans for a 111-km expressway and five satellite townships. The court highlighted extensive delays, litigation with over 2,000 cases, alleged corruption, and political interference. It recommended initiating a fresh project to better serve the city’s development, environment, and citizens, noting the original plan has largely remained on paper since 1995.
