Ahead of Maharashtra's January 15 civic polls, former corporator Bhanusing Rawat accused BJP leader Ashok Chavan of accepting ₹50 lakh for granting party tickets in Nanded. Rawat, a long-time associate, claims loyal workers were sidelined for moneyed candidates. Chavan has vehemently denied the allegations, stating his 50-year career is untainted. Rawat alleges his son was denied a ticket despite seeking one for ward 16. Similar accusations of financial impropriety in candidate selection have surfaced from other party members.
