Pune Police Seize Cash, Arms, and Drugs Ahead of Municipal Elections Amid Security Measures

Ahead of the Pune Municipal Corporation elections, Pune police have intensified security and preventive measures, deploying over 12,500 personnel and multiple surveillance teams across the city. Enforcement actions have led to the seizure of cash totaling 67 lakh rupees, arms, drugs, and illicit goods worth over 1.23 crore. Additionally, police and the Election Commission's Flying Squad seized Rs 1 lakh in cash, empty envelopes, and a voters' list from two locked SUVs, prompting an investigation into potential vote-buying activities.
