Congress to Hold Meeting on March 5 Ahead of Rajya Sabha Nomination Filing

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has called a Congress Legislative Party meeting on March 5, the last day for filing nominations for the Rajya Sabha election scheduled on March 16. The party has not yet announced its candidate for the seat vacated by BJP MP Indu Bala Goswami. Sukhu, after discussions with senior leaders and the high command, conveyed that Congress MLAs prefer a local candidate. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan confirmed all MLAs will support the chosen nominee.
