Assam Government Forms Commission to Probe November 29 BTC Secretariat Protest

The Assam government has established a one-member Commission of Inquiry led by former Gauhati High Court judge Justice H. N. Sarma to investigate the November 29, 2025, protest by Bodoland University student organisations at the Bodoland Territorial Council Secretariat in Kokrajhar. The commission will examine the causes of the protest, the sequence of events including alleged breaches and vandalism, the response of authorities, and any lapses in managing the situation. It will also assess damage to public property and disruptions, inviting statements from relevant stakeholders and the public.
