Maharashtra Plans Infrastructure Upgrades and Enrollment Boost for Marathi Schools

Maharashtra School Education Minister Dada Bhuse assured that no Marathi-medium schools will be closed and outlined plans to enhance their infrastructure, staffing, and quality of education. The government aims to increase enrolment in Marathi schools by 25% in the 2026-27 academic year, addressing concerns over declining student numbers partly due to Aadhaar-based data verification. Bhuse emphasized mandatory Marathi teaching across all boards and warned of action against non-compliant institutions, while responding to criticisms about the state of Marathi schools and admissions under the RTE Act.
