Surveys conducted by various agencies and organizations following the demolition of homes in Kogilu Layout on December 20 present conflicting figures on the number of affected families. An NGO survey identified approximately 170 families, while officials from the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation Limited reported close to 200. A separate list submitted by 'slum leaders' projected over 350 eligible families. Residents also reported paying significant sums to intermediaries for plots and services, with some now facing threats to remain silent about these payments.
