The Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Surya Kant, has implemented new administrative rules to expedite case processing and prioritize marginalized groups. Effective January 1, these changes include strict time limits for oral arguments to reduce delays and a revised case listing system. Four new priority categories—specially-abled persons and acid attack victims, senior citizens over 80, those below the poverty line, and legal aid matters—will receive more timely attention, addressing the court's backlog of over 91,000 cases.
