Nine Maoists Surrender in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband, Citing Disillusionment

Nine Maoist cadres, including six women from Sinapali and SDK area committees, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district, carrying a combined bounty of Rs 45 lakh. They cited disillusionment with Maoist ideology and forest hardships, and were influenced by the state's surrender and rehabilitation policy. The group handed over weapons including AK-47s. This year, 180 Maoists have surrendered in Chhattisgarh amid ongoing efforts to encourage further surrenders.
