Maharashtra Council Panel Summons Kunal Kamra and Sushma Andhare Over Remarks on Deputy CM Shinde

The Maharashtra Legislative Council's Privileges Committee has summoned comedian Kunal Kamra and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sushma Andhare to appear on February 17 over alleged insulting remarks against Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Kamra's parody song, released in March 2023, referred to Shinde as a 'traitor' in relation to his 2022 political rebellion. Both had requested postponements citing campaigning and personal reasons. The committee warned of action if they fail to appear after multiple summons.
