Punjab Farmers Protest Arrests of Leaders Ahead of Chief Minister's Majitha Visit

Farmers in Punjab protested the arrest of over 30 farmer leaders and activists, including Sarwan Singh Pandher, Dilbagh Singh Harigarh, and Jaswinder Singh Longowal, ahead of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's visit to Majitha. The arrests, described by protesters as illegal, led to demonstrations across districts like Amritsar, Patiala, and Sangrur. Police detained several leaders overnight but released five farmers from Tarn Taran on January 18. Protesters demanded the release of all detained leaders and compensation for stolen farming equipment.
