The Election Commission has mandated that the randomisation of state police personnel deployed at polling stations on voting day must now occur in the presence of central police observers assigned to constituencies. This measure aims to enhance transparency and ensure neutrality by deploying local police outside their usual station areas to minimize bias. District superintendents of police will continue conducting the randomisation, now under observer supervision, for all future Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.
