The Allahabad High Court has directed the Budaun district administration in Uttar Pradesh not to interfere with prayers conducted in a mosque situated on private property. The bench, comprising Justices Shekhar B Saraf and Vivek Saran, upheld a recent ruling that there is no legal prohibition against holding religious prayer meetings on private premises. The court granted relief to petitioner Alisher, allowing peaceful prayers at Waqf Masjid Raza, while noting police may act if public order is disturbed on public property.
