Mukesh Singh, a 1996-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) for Ladakh. Singh is a counter-terrorism specialist with prior experience in various capacities, including Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). He also served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Inspector General (IG) for the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and held positions as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Jammu and Kashmir.
