
CPI(M) leader Jitendra Chaudhury stated that Tripura's mass education movement, Jana Shiksha Andolan, founded in 1948, was instrumental in forming the Left Front government and transforming the state's socio-cultural and political landscape. He credited the movement for establishing schools, particularly in tribal areas, and criticized the Tipra Motha for introducing Roman script for Kokborok and the BJP for injecting Hindutva ideology into education.
