
The Centre has approved Rs 1,912.99 crore in additional disaster aid for five states—Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland—and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir affected by floods, cloudbursts, landslides, and Cyclone Montha in 2025. This assistance, decided by a high-level committee chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is over and above funds already released under various disaster response and mitigation funds during the 2025-26 financial year.
